Ffxiv questHey folks, here is the 6.2 update for my FFXIV quest tracker! Unfortunately, I'm extremely busy at the moment and can't devote time to cleaning up the job quest section or providing the base Excel for download due to just how big this project has become and how mucky said excel file is getting. You can see over here on the left we've got this little "Presets" panel, and if I scroll down you can see that there's quite a lot of presets in here, we've got a lot of popular social networks like: YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, we've got Tablets, we've got Snapchat, Screens, Pinterest, Phones, Paper, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Ads and Facebook these are all baked into the Figma plugin to give you really quick presets for very popular sizes and very popular platforms. On the left hand side, that is just dedicated to sizes if you think of the right hand side as being the images that you're going to crop, the left hand side is dedicated to all of the sizes that you want to crop each of those images to. We'll get into these settings in a moment, but I'm just going to go through the left hand side as well. If I want to just target a few of them I can uncheck them, I can use this little title up here to bulk select and unselect them, if you've got a lot of images that can be really helpful, but essentially the whole right hand side here of the HyperCrop Figma plugin is really just an overview of all the images that you're going to be cropping. Now we've got all of our images in here, you can see that I can select these based on the check boxes. You can see here now I've only got nine images selected because I've just removed that export setting, but if I just add that back again just click on the "Plus" icon, and this can be set to anything, it's just to tell HyperCrop that the images that you want to export have some sort of export setting on them, because if you didn't have that, it would basically try and export every single image in your document and that would just be kind of crazy, so that's the way that you can tell HyperCrop which images you want to actually be cropping, it's just by clicking on them and clicking on the little export setting "Plus" button and if you click refresh in the Figma plugin, that'll make all of the images you've selected pop right up. What we can see on the right hand side here is a list of all of the images in our Figma file that have export settings, and what I mean by that is if I click on any of these images, you can see over in the right hand side under the "Export" column heading, you can see that I've got a JPG export setting applied to this image, and all of my other images also have at least one export setting on them too, and if I were to remove that, so if I remove that export setting and then refresh my layers, you'll see here that I'll get a message saying that I don't have any selected layers which contain export settings and it's just telling me if I want this image to be exported, I have to add at least one export setting. The first thing to know is just to go over the interface. If you just right click anywhere on your page, go down to "Plugins", and then go down to "HyperCrop Batch Image Resizer" and click on that, this is going to load up the Figma plugin that we just installed. Now I'm just going to jump back into my project, I've just got a bunch of different images here, and I'm going to be using these as an example to show you what HyperCrop can do. If you haven't already done that, you can go to the top left corner of the Figma app, click on the little Figma icon, and just in the search bar, if you go down to "Community", type in the word "HyperCrop", and if you put that in the search bar you'll see a result pop-up called "HyperCrop Batch Image Resizer", and if you haven't already installed it there'll be a little "Install" button on the right-hand side over here you just click on "Install", and it'll change to look like mine with the little check mark, and once it looks like that, then you're ready to go. To do this, we're going to install a Figma plugin called "HyperCrop". Today I'm going to be showing you how to batch crop and resize your images from Figma out to multiple different sizes, based on whatever dimensions you need. The beam's web is horizontal to better absorb the shear force of truck collisions. Just below the bridge is a wide-flange steel H-beam to protect it from over-height trucks. As years passed, this option would eventually become impractical, as it would require moving sewer lines and water pipes below the road surface, which would come at a high cost and cause important utilities to be shut down for weeks to months.Ī view from under the bridge, facing traffic. North Carolina attempted to fix the problem but was unable to obtain federal funding the accepted method of ameliorating the problem at the time was to dig for the road to go deeper, given that the Railway could not afford to rebuild the bridge altogether. The bridge on Gregson Street in particular was deemed "the granddaddy stopper-of-them-all", having collided with trucks at least seven times and causing $20,000 ($160,000 in 2021) worth of damage in 1968. Īs early as the 1960s, several low bridges in Durham were an impediment to the area's industry as larger trucks began supplementing rail haulage. The railroad is located near various industrial buildings that at one time hosted tobacco and textile businesses. The bridge was designed in the 1920s and built in 1940 by the Southern Railway. Later, in October 2019, the North Carolina Railroad Company, which owns the bridge and tracks, raised the bridge by 8 inches (20 cm) to 12 feet 4 inches (3.76 m) to reduce collisions and to eliminate the grade difference between the level crossing nearby and the bridge itself, although that is still well below the standard height. Henn has recorded 178 collisions with the bridge, including those after the bridge raising, and as of 2023 the YouTube channel he set up to showcase his recordings has 264,000 subscribers and more than 80 million views.ĭespite the number of crashes, a March 2014 report stated that only three injuries had been recorded, making rebuilding of the bridge a low-priority concern. The bridge gained fame as a nearby office worker, Jürgen Henn, set up cameras in 2008 to track the collisions with the bridge. Despite numerous warning signs about the low clearance, a large number of trucks, buses, and RVs have collided with the overpass at high speed, tearing off roof fixtures, and at times shearing off the trucks' roofs, earning the bridge the nicknames the "Can Opener" and the "Gregson Street Guillotine". Since 1973, the standard clearance for bridges was increased to a minimum height of 14 feet (4.27 m), which is 2 feet 4 inches (0.71 m) higher than the bridge as built, although bridges constructed before this date were not required to be rebuilt to meet the increased clearance requirement. The bridge was designed in the 1920s, with a clearance for vehicles of 11 feet 8 inches (3.56 m), the standard height at the time it opened. Built in 1940, the bridge allows passenger and freight trains to cross over South Gregson Street in downtown Durham. The Norfolk Southern–Gregson Street Overpass, also known as the 11-foot-8 Bridge, is a railroad bridge in Durham, North Carolina, United States. Eventually the bridge was replaced with what we now call the Bakewell Underpass, constructed in 20, at a cost of $41 million.1 The damaged pylon was reinforced as a stop-gap measure, but the State Government immediately started planning to replace the bridge. For months the bridge was closed which created traffic chaos for those who commuted to and from the western suburbs. The bridge didn't fall, but its structural integrity was compromised. In 2001 there was an accident at the bridge. The Bakewell Bridge took all the Glover Avenue road traffic up over the top of the railway line and down the other side to join Henley Beach Road. It had multiple pylons and the trains went under the road, in-between the pylons. TextĪ concrete Bakewell Bridge was constructed in the 1920's. The first contour drawings you do will look, well, funny. It is about long and hard practice of the fundamental principles of drawing, constantly improving your drawing skills by setting meaningful creative tasks and solving them. Blind contour drawing is an excellent way to train the eye to draw what it really sees rather than what it thinks it sees. Learning to draw is not about finding some “secret” of transforming amateur scribbles into a masterpiece. The next time you hear some doubtful drawing advice, check out artworks of such “teacher”. Teaching methods are deliberately downgraded. It’s kind of like a meditation, explained Erin Pollock, a fellow at the New York Academy of Art (NYAA). At first, its hard to understand what on earth you gain. Instead of inciting anxiety, blind contour drawing is meant to help artists practice their observation skills, and for those who approach the technique with patience, it can even be a calming exercise. Over last 60 years, the quality of art education had declined dramatically generations of artists have been taught by teachers who can’t draw. Blind contour drawing is the process of drawing the edge of an object without looking at the paper. This helps you to make a contour drawing appear cleaner and more accurate. Good drawing skills were learned by practicing linear constructive drawing, perspective, proportions, rendering tonal values, rules of composition, understanding human anatomy, and so on. Contour line drawing also allows you to look at your model or object and at your drawing paper. You are correct about the Old Masters, blind contour drawing was not used in traditional art education. In this case, it is not only pointless but seriously dangerous. The following questions were under study: (1) Do blind contour drawings of an object improve ones ability to draw that object. Such a recommendation is as erroneous as advising a student driver to learn driving with their eyes closed. Materials: Your sketchbook and a fairly fat marker (not a pencil). Then, practice non-judgement (and maybe even humor) with whatever emerges. This ability helps an artist to draw realistically with confidence. Relying entirely on your powers of mindful observation, create 1) a Mindful Doodle and 2) a blind, continuous-line contour drawing to evoke an experience of deep mindfulness. We can judge distances because of binocular vision. Creating blind contour drawings with students comes with a multitude of benefits. If I were in the same situation, and have been when I acquired an r710 with server 2008 R2, I would image the current install and virtualize it in ESXi or XCP-NG (xenserver off shoot) and have a VM for the windows server for domain and Sys-Admin experimentation. I would maximize that experience by trying a few of the following if not all. Yes it’s a server running 2012 R2, and there are cheaper options as well as old boxes you could go get for free that will play old games, but that server is a playground for experimentation. I think we are kinda missing the major points here of the original post. I would be looking to remote desktop into the VM from a local PC on the same network, all hard wired on 1gb nic's so I would think that should eliminate any issues on speed / bandwidth.Īnyone else here tried this? Anything else I need to look at or is this even a runner? I don't plan on running anything hardcore or graphic intensive on this but will that even matter? One of the things I'd like to play around with (literally) is playing some old school PC games on it. Looking to play around with Hyper V and the OS in general and do some home learning over the next few months with it. Clean install so not work data i need to worry about. Pictured: Elan Ripstick 106, Not Pictured: Eric's Legs Overall, I just flat out really enjoy skiing the Ripstick 96… It helps me navigate difficult terrain in my own way, and more importantly it doesn’t punish me for when I’m not 100% on my game. The ski's tip and tail profile allow me to smear/cheat on certain turns (which makes me look and feel like a wayyy better skier). It skis so effortlessly across almost all snow conditions and allows me the confidence I need to push harder through more aggressive terrain. After the very first turn, this ski increased my stoke levels and made me feel 100% comfortable. For me that immediate click was the Ripstick 96. We test a lot of awesome skis and sometimes it takes a run-or-two to actually figure out a particular ski’s sweet spot/balance point… and sometimes it just clicks immediately.
